Astrology by Date of Birth
Astrology by date of birth means preparing your Janam Kundli from three details — the date, time and place you were born — and reading the planetary positions recorded at that moment. Date alone gives a partial reading; the time is what fixes the lagna and the house structure.
What your date of birth actually gives us
Three details, and each one unlocks a different layer of the chart:
| Detail | What it determines | If it is missing |
|---|---|---|
| Date of birth | Moon sign, Nakshatra, dasha sequence | Nothing can be read at all |
| Time of birth | Lagna and the twelve houses | Career and timing readings lose precision |
| Place of birth | Local planetary positions at that moment | Calculations shift by degrees |
This is why “astrology by date of birth” is a slightly incomplete phrase. The date is the starting point, not the whole input.
What the chart is read for
- Career and work — the tenth house, its lord, and the periods that support a change
- Marriage and compatibility — the seventh house, Venus and Jupiter, plus dasha timing
- Family and property — the fourth house and its associated periods
- Health indications — described as tendencies, never as diagnosis
- Timing — which periods are supportive, and which are better spent consolidating
The honest limits
A chart prepared from your date of birth will not tell you the month you will marry, whether a specific job application succeeds, or how long you will live. It describes patterns and periods.
Where a reading is uncertain — most often because the birth time is approximate — you will be told which conclusions still hold and which do not. That distinction is the whole difference between a reading and a guess.
Free reports and why they read the same for everyone
Automated date-of-birth reports are widely available and the arithmetic behind them is usually correct. What they cannot do is read placements against each other, weigh a strong Jupiter against an afflicted seventh house, or answer the question you actually came with.
If you have already generated one, bring it. We will go through what it got right and what it flattened.
Common questions
Can astrology be done with only the date of birth?
Partly. Your date of birth alone gives the Moon sign, the Nakshatra and the running dasha period — enough for a broad reading and for most compatibility work. What it cannot give is the lagna, which changes roughly every two hours and sets the entire house structure of the chart. Without the time, career and timing readings are noticeably less precise, and we will say so rather than present a partial reading as a complete one.
What exactly do you need from me?
Three things — date of birth, time of birth as accurately as you know it, and place of birth. Send them on WhatsApp and the chart is prepared before your appointment. Nothing else is needed, and we never ask for identity documents or payment details in advance.
Where do I find my exact birth time?
A birth certificate or hospital record is the most reliable source. Many families also have it written in a horoscope prepared at birth. If nobody recorded it, say so — we can either narrow it using known life events, or use Prasna Jyotish, which answers one specific question and needs no birth details at all.
Can you predict marriage from date of birth?
A chart shows indicative periods, not dates. The seventh house, Venus, Jupiter and the running dasha together suggest windows that are more supportive than others. Anyone giving you a specific month and year for a marriage that has not been arranged is claiming more than the method supports.
Is an online date-of-birth report the same as a consultation?
No. Free online generators do the arithmetic correctly and stop there. They do not read the chart as a whole, weigh conflicting placements, or account for the question you actually came with. The calculation is the easy part; the reading is what you are paying for.
