Palmistry & Hasta Samudrika Reading
Palmistry, or Hasta Samudrika Shastra, reads the lines, mounts and shape of the hand. It is traditionally used alongside a birth chart rather than instead of one, and it requires an in-person reading — photographs lose the depth and texture the method relies on.
What is read
The major lines — heart, head and life. The mounts at the base of each finger and their relative development. The shape and proportion of the palm and fingers. Secondary lines and markings where they are clearly formed.
Read alongside the chart
The most useful readings pair the hand with the birth chart. Where both point the same way, the indication is worth more weight. Where they differ, the chart takes precedence.

Palmistry is offered at our Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai centres. It is one of the few things we do not offer online, for the reason given in the FAQ above.
Common questions
Can it be done from a photograph?
Not properly. Depth, texture, flexibility and the colour of the mounts matter, and a photograph flattens all of it. We would rather tell you that than take a fee for a reading we do not think is sound. Palmistry is available in person at all three centres.
Do the lines change over time?
Minor lines do change over years; the major lines are broadly stable. This is one reason palmistry is treated as supporting rather than definitive, and read alongside the birth chart.
Is it as reliable as a birth chart reading?
No, and it is not intended to be. The birth chart is the primary method. Palmistry adds a perspective, particularly on temperament and disposition. If you can only do one, do the chart reading.
Do you read health from the hand?
No. Some traditions do; we do not, because it strays into medical territory where an interpretive reading has no business being. If you have a health concern, see a doctor.
