Kundli Matching for Marriage in Bengaluru
Kundli matching compares two birth charts to assess compatibility before a marriage alliance. The traditional Ashtakoot method scores eight factors out of 36 points, but the score is only a starting point — the full chart, dasha periods and dosha positions matter more than the number.

What Guna Milan actually measures
Guna Milan compares eight factors — the Ashtakoot — between two birth charts, each carrying a different weight, totalling 36 points. The eight cover temperament, mental compatibility, physical constitution, family orientation, dominance balance, health indicators, emotional nature and lineage.
| Koota | Points | What it looks at |
|---|---|---|
| Varna | 1 | Working temperament |
| Vashya | 2 | Mutual influence and give-and-take |
| Tara | 3 | Health and general fortune |
| Yoni | 4 | Physical and instinctive compatibility |
| Graha Maitri | 5 | Mental and intellectual compatibility |
| Gana | 6 | Broad temperament type |
| Bhakoot | 7 | Emotional bond and family prosperity |
| Nadi | 8 | Health and progeny indicators |
The weighting tells you something on its own: Nadi and Bhakoot together carry 15 of the 36 points, which is why a mismatch in either lowers a score sharply even when the rest of the chart is comfortable.
Why the score is not the answer
A number out of 36 is a summary, not a conclusion. Two things routinely get missed when a family relies on the score alone:
- Dasha periods. Two people may be well matched but entering very different planetary periods. That is a timing question, not a compatibility question, and it does not show in the Guna score.
- Dosha cancellation. Several combinations — including many Mangal Dosha cases — are cancelled or substantially reduced by other placements. A software report often flags the dosha and stops there.
We read both charts together, give you the Ashtakoot score, and then explain what the score is hiding in either direction.
What you receive
A clear verbal explanation during the consultation, covering the Ashtakoot result, any doshas present and whether they are mitigated, the relevant dasha positions for both people, and — where they apply — remedies with the reasoning behind each one. Nothing is recommended that we cannot explain.
North Indian and South Indian methods
Families from Telugu, Kannada and Marathi backgrounds often use Porutham (also called Jataka matching) rather than the North Indian Ashtakoot system. The two examine overlapping ground with different structures and different emphases. If your family follows the Porutham system, see Jataka Matching — and if the two sides of an alliance follow different traditions, we can read both and explain where they agree and where they diverge.
Questions
Where do I go for kundli matching for marriage in Bengaluru?
Our Sadashiva Nagar centre: 504, 9th Cross Road, 8th Main Road, Sadashiva Nagar, Bengaluru 560080. Near Sankey Road, off Bellary Road. Call +91 63629 92917 if you need directions.
Can I send my details before visiting the Bengaluru centre?
Yes, and it is the better way to do it. WhatsApp your birth details to +91 63629 92917 and the chart will be prepared before you arrive, so the appointment is spent on the discussion.
Which languages can I have this consultation in at Bengaluru?
English, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi. Say which you prefer when you call and it will be arranged.
How many gunas are needed for marriage?
Conventionally, 18 or more out of 36 is treated as an acceptable match, and 25 and above as a strong one. In practice the number alone decides very little. Two charts scoring 30 can still carry a difficult Mars or dasha position, and a chart pair scoring 16 can be entirely workable once the individual placements are examined. We give you the score, then explain what sits behind it.
Can kundli matching be done without an exact birth time?
A reasonable assessment is possible with an approximate time, but several factors — particularly the lagna and the house positions — shift with even a fifteen-minute difference. If the birth time is uncertain, say so at the start. We will tell you which conclusions are reliable and which are not, rather than presenting an uncertain reading as a firm one.
What details do you need for kundli matching?
For each person — full name, date of birth, time of birth as precisely as it is known, and place of birth. That is all. You can send both sets on WhatsApp before the consultation so the charts are prepared in advance.
What happens if the horoscopes are not compatible?
We explain which specific factors are weak and why. In many cases the concern is narrower than families expect and can be discussed openly between both sides. Where a genuine difficulty shows, we say so plainly. We do not recommend expensive rituals as a condition for proceeding.
Can kundli matching be done online?
Yes. Send both sets of birth details on WhatsApp and the consultation can be held over a call. Software-generated match reports are widely available online and are useful for the arithmetic, but they do not read the two charts together — which is the part that actually matters.
